7 Healthy Reasons to Be Drinking Beer
We all try to find reasons to justify our intake of beer. Some save it for meals. Others only drink on the weekends. It calms nerves, it cures stress, or it is a reward for being productive in our daily lives. We have all said it. Now this article throws out 7 reasons to legitimately drink beer and not feel bad about it the next day. #1 alone will have people raising a pint and declaring "See? I knew it all along". New West Sixth Seasonal
It has been a slow week, though West Sixth has announced a new seasonal brew to hit shelves in March. It will be a Belgian-Style Blonde, which should be quite quaffable for the months ahead. While not my favorite style, I am looking forward to seeing what West Sixth can do with this brew.
Great Lakes Changes
This isn't huge news or anything, but Great Lakes will be changing the labels of their everyday beers. I do so love a snazzy label change, and Great Lakes hasn't disappointed. I have provided a picture of their new labels, and hope you enjoy them as much as me.

Stone Trending on my Blog...Review time!
Stone Enjoy By 02/14/15
I always expect each Enjoy By to be mostly the same, and each time it completely surprises me by how much it has changed...for the most part. This one sticks to what I expect from the nose, but seems a little lackluster elsewhere. The nose exhibits grapefruit, orange zest, pine resin, mountain fresh scent, and a dash of chive. It certainly makes for a robust aroma that made me salivate for the beer itself. The beer starts out bitter with lemon pith and pine. That creates quite the dry, hoppy entry into this brew. The finish is a bit soapy with hints of pine and dish detergent. It is reminiscent of Pine-Sol to a degree. Overall, this beer is good but not great. Still, I would highly recommend a bottle as always.

Stone Green Tea IPA
I have been looking forward to this one since I announced its impending arrival on the blog. I love IPA's with lots of tea flavors (such as Schlafly AIPA) and so this was a must buy for me. Plus, its Stone...How can you go wrong with Stone? Once again, Stone didn't let me down. I cracked this one open and took a whiff that revealed a nose full of grapefruit, orange juice, green tea, and cologne. Light aromas of pine and lemon emerged as the beer warmed. The flavor was exquisitely bitter with hints of cologne, grapefruit, and mango. The finish reveal light flavors of black tea, perfume, and floral notes. Overall, I wanted more tea from this beer. However, it still impressed me with each aspect.

Stone Delicious IPA
I was looking forward to this one about as much as the Green Tea. Getting my hands on both made January quite the treat. The nose on this one is just phenomenal, and exactly what I expected. Lemon is all over this, with hints of lemon pith, lemon zest, lemon juice, and lemon heads. With all of that lemon, I am surprised that aromas of orange juice, grapefruit juice, and pine also shined through. The flavor starts out bitter with flavors of lemon juice, lemon pith, and pine. The only qualms about this beer is on the finish where it dissipates quickly with just hints of lemon and toast. I was pleasantly surprised by this one and found it quaffable enough that I enjoyed a second.

Stone Bids Adieu to Two...
Stone Brewing Co. is one of my Top 10 brewers easily. Most recently they have crawled towards my Top 5 with so many new beers that have all been fantastic. I recall fond memories of beers like Espresso Imperial Stout, Chipotle Porter, Götterdämmerung, and Southern Charred. However, in all of this craze of new beers it seems we let two of our own fall. Levitation Ale and Sublimely Self-Righteous, due to a drop in sales, will be discontinued as of this Summer. I am deeply saddened as Sublimely was my favorite Black IPA out there.
However, from the ashes shall arise a new beer. A beer that will hopefully help fill the void of Sublimely in our hearts. Can anyone recall the only problem with Stone's beloved Black IPA? I will wait. If you said freshness, then you are quite correct. Stone has realized that and correct that one issue with its soon-to-be released Enjoy By Black IPA!! You heard that correctly. Just like the Phoenix, this Son of Sublime will emerge. It happens later this year and is sure to be just as popular as Enjoy By, at least in my home. Cheers!

Stone to Build East Coast Brewery is...Good?
I personally think that this is a great movement for Stone Brewing Co. as long as the quality of their beers remains. Many different West Coast breweries have opened new breweries in the East Coast to keep up with demand. Stone's announcement on their blog here has been met with much excitement throughout the beer community. Can you imagine more Enjoy By or new specialties that don't make it this far? I tingle with excitement at the thought.
Yet some controversy has erupted in the destination city of Richmond, VA. Local breweries and restaurant have bristled at the fact that the local government has offered a loan to Stone Brewing Co. Some seem to think that the government will push more for Stone to succeed than local businesses that have been there for years and some up-and-coming. This seems very iffy to me, as Stone has always been respected within the craft beer community. Yet the article here is quite convincing. You all be the judges, but I think Stone has nothing but good intentions.

Release Calendars
Everyone frets each year about finding that specific brew from a certain brewery that they desire. It can be frustrating for us as consumers as it seems each time you ask you hear "in a few weeks". It can be frustrating for our local beer stores as the misinformation they are given runs rampant. Hopefully the article that I provide in this link will help.
